72 Films announce Emma: One Last Dance, premiering at Raindance Film Festival
72 Films are proud to announce a new feature film, Emma: One Last Dance, chronicling the extraordinary career of Emma Hayes OBE, one of the most influential figures in women’s football. The documentary will have its World premiere at Raindance Film Festival on 21st June in London.
As she enters her final season managing Chelsea FC Women, Hayes faces the ultimate challenge: winning her first UEFA Champions League title as manager before leading the U.S. National Team. From her humble beginnings on a North London council estate to becoming one of the most successful English football managers, the film highlights her relentless determination and transformative influence on the sport.
The documentary features intimate interviews with family, football legends like Sir Alex Ferguson and Ian Wright OBE, alongside Chelsea players including England and Chelsea Captain Millie Bright and striker Sam Kerr.
Exploring her resilience in the face of personal tragedy, including losing her inspirational father Sid, and the balancing act of motherhood with a high-stakes career, the documentary blends present-day challenges with her past, revealing her journey from a promising young player sidelined by injury to her rise as the youngest professional coach in the game.
Emma: One Last Dance – which is nominated for Best Documentary Feature and Best Director of a UK Feature at Raindance Festival – is a celebration of leadership, perseverance, and the profound impact of a trailblazer.
