25 years on from the release of their iconic debut album Spice, this three-part documentary series examines how modern feminism evolved through the life stories of the group’s five members and the events that have surrounded them during their lives in the spotlight.
Starting with the group’s formation in the 1990s against the backdrop of ‘ladette culture’ through to the latest world tour at the time of the #metoo movement the series uses rarely seen archive footage, compelling interviews, and a vibrant soundtrack to chart the evolution of the band over the past quarter of a century and explore the impact of ‘girl power’ around the world. A story of how five British women became a global phenomenon, reflecting and influencing a generation in the process.
